HISTORY COMES ALIVE!
Immerse yourself in the history and cuisine of early-America during the 8th annual 'An Evening in the Past,' December 5, 2022, at the United States Marshals Museum in Fort Smith. Featuring actress Kim Hanley, Executive Director of the American Historical Theatre, as First Lady Abigail Adams, An Evening in the Past offers a unique opportunity to experience history first-hand through live-action interactive historical theatre.
As the wife, confidante and trusted advisor to Founding Father and President, John Adams, family economics, children’s education, and civic responsibility were primary concerns as she urged Congress to ‘Remember the Ladies.’ Her requests for legislation to benefit future generations included the necessity of education for all children regardless of sex or color, as well as the right to self-determination for all individuals, including the emancipation of slaves and granting wives equal status under the law.
Event tickets include a time period-inspired menu from Chef Jason Haid of Revel, photographs with the historical figure, and complimentary wine, beer, and signature drink.
