Meet the Staff
LYNN WASSON
Interim Director
Lynn has made a career of promoting Fort Smith’s appeal and its unique identity. As publisher of Entertainment Fort Smith magazine for 22 years, she’s written or edited thousands of stories describing the city, the aspirations it reaches for and the enjoyment it offers to every kind of visitor. It helps that she’s married to one of Fort Smith’s most avid historians, Joe Wasson, and has spent decades chronicling the contemporary players who are constantly enriching the city’s culture. “It’s fun to present everything from our rich history to international art installations to our long-dreamed-of U.S. Marshals Museum, an institution of national significance,” she said. “And I know that the people of Fort Smith are welcoming and unforgettably friendly. This excellent Convention & Visitors Bureau has every up-to-date tool to spread Fort Smith’s appealing qualities and to attract and impress guests from family vacationers to major conventions and meetings - and to attract even more of them in the future.”
