Mobile Art Lab: Creative Writing

Join the CB to You Mobile Art Lab for a FREE, drop-in creative writing workshop!

Local artist Leah Grant will be at 64.6 Downtown in Fort Smith from 6 to 8 p.m. leading a creative writing workshop for teens and adults. In this guided workshop, you'll create a letter to a friend where you can share stories of community, family, and resilience. You’ll learn how to hand-foil and gild your letter with step-by-step instruction, helping you create a personalized, lasting work of art. Community participant letters will also have the opportunity to be featured as part of a series of large-scale public artworks created by Leah.

Leah Grant lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She graduated with her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Arkansas’ School of Art program in 2021. She graduated with her BFA from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas in 2016. Leah incorporates collage techniques and images from a personal archive to recontextualize her experiences by revealing and concealing the vulnerable parts of her identity. Her background is in printmaking but she also utilizes photography, writing, audio, and video in her art practice.
